Li Li Tan brings over five years of experience coaching young people into the UK’s most competitive universities, leveraging deep insider knowledge of Oxbridge admissions from both sides of the table.

She obtained a PhD and MPhil in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, where her thesis on how we learn to visually recognise objects – drawing on both neuroscience and philosophy – was awarded the St Catharine’s College Prize for Distinction in Research. She also holds a BA in Psychology & Philosophy from the University of Oxford.

During her time at Cambridge, Li Li served as an interviewer for undergraduate Philosophy for three admissions cycles, contributing directly to decisions about which candidates to admit. This experience gives her a firsthand understanding of how Oxbridge admissions tutors evaluate applicants and what sets the strongest candidates apart from the rest of a competitive field. She also taught undergraduate Philosophy, delivering one-to-one supervisions and lecturing on a final-year module.

Born and raised near Kuala Lumpur, Li Li was the first student at her secondary school to receive an Oxbridge offer. Now based in London, Li Li spends her down time at the local bouldering gym or deep in a video game.
